Architecture competition
“Where would You wait for It?”

1. Purpose
1.1. Promote engineering as a career.
1.2. Give students an opportunity to integrate academic knowledge with realistic and practical experiences. Thereby providing them with additional value to studies.

2. Time and place
2.1. April 20, 2017 from 10:00am to 2:30pm
2.2. Assembly hall , Tallinn University of Technology, Ehitajate tee 5, Tallinn

3. Organizer
3.1. Event organizer: Student Council of School of Engineering of Tallinn University of Technology
3.2. The chief judge of the competition day: Alo Oll

4. Participates
4.1. Where Would You Wait for it? is a team competition. Team consists of two people.
4.2. Taking part in the competition is free of charge.
4.3. There is no age limit for participants.
4.4. Everyone participates under their own responsibility. Organizer will not be held responsible for any accidents and their consequences.

5. Competition task and the essence of Competition
5.1. Competitors have to build a 1:100 scale architectural model of Hyperloop station with given materials.
5.2. Teams have 180 minutes for completion.
5.3. Gross external area of the station must be at least 1000m².
5.4. Station building must have at least two floors.
5.5. Solutions for lounge, cafe, ticket machines area, information desk, toilets, hyperloop service area (one floor).
5.6. Participants have to draw a floor plan and vertical section. (1:100 scale and both on paper)
5.7. Materials

5.7.1. KAPA foam board
5.7.2. Multiwall polycarbonate sheet
5.7.3. Solid polyester sheet
5.7.4. Wooden sticks

5.8. Tools

5.8.1. Paper knife, metal ruler, pencil
5.8.2. Glue gun, glue stick

5.9. Some extra rules will be revealed when competition starts.

6. Ranking
6.1. Resemblance to given task, concept and functional planning, solutions and futuristic approach.

7. Awards
7.1. Top three teams will be honored with prizes.

7.1.1. 1st prize is 80 euros for a team

7.1.2. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will get 16GB glass TTÜ memory stick

7.2. The ceremony will take from 2:15pm to 2:30pm in the TTÜ assembly hall.

8. Registration
8.1. Registration for the competition will take place electronically via http://2017.buildit-tallinn.eu.
8.2. If there are any free spots left, it is possible to register to the competition before the event starts.
8.3. Any photograph, interview, and video taken on behalf of the organizers during the contest may be displayed on the contest website or in press releases related to this or upcoming competitions without compensation.
